An LCD controller board converts analog video from your image generator, PC, or camera source to the native format of a flat panel display. An LCD controller provides the entire interface to the LCD panel, including digital video interface, switched power, and inverter interface. Westar's Video Processer (VP) products are LCD controllers suitable for a wide range of LCD's. Our free configuration software allows you to set up parameters for both your video input and your selected LCD. The VP7 LCD Controller is our flagship product.  VP7 is suitable for applications that require high fidelity analog to digital conversion, re-sizing, and frame rate conversion for resolutions up to UXGA.

The VP7 also has an optional daughtercard for NTSC or PAL conversions, using static mesh or field-to-frame conversion techniques.

The VP7 is available in (3) form factors. The standard VP7 is a 5” x 4” solution, suitable for most custom displays. The VP7-Short is even smaller, at 5.25” x 2.5”.  It is suitable for small displays, with pixel clock rates below 108 MHz. The VP7-3ATI is 2.9” x 3” in size, and interfaces with 3ATI displays as well as other commercial TFT panels requiring a small form factor.

The VP8 LCD Controller and VP8-Short have similar features as the VP7 and VP7-Short, respectively.  VP8 products are RoHS-compliant.

The VP4E LCD Controller provides analog to digital video conversion in a small form factor (3ATI).  The VP4E includes video rotation capability.

The VP9 LCD Controller provides the industry's most flexible video combining solution on a single circuit board. Video combining refers to various techniques for combining two independent video streams. Our video combiner solutions also allow the output timing to be completely independent of both video inputs. Typical video combining techniques include alpha blend, RGB keying, split screens, foreground window over a background image, etc.

The VP10 LCD Controller is similar to the VP7, but with extended resolutions and RoHS compliance.
